New Building Ready for Residents

It's almost here!  The final touches are being placed on the new Nancy Cole Women's Home and the women are scheduled to officially move in on Sunday, July 29.  Many thanks to all of the supporters who have made this possible, including significant support from the wonderful people at the Mariners Church in Irvin, California.  The finishing of this project would not be occurring at this time without your help.

In order to properly open the home, we still have need of support in several areas:

1. The Finishing Touches:  As with any building program, there are last-minute items that need to be purchased to complete the project.  If you would like to help with the purchase of locks, the repair of damaged sidewalks, continued payment of the security guard, final painting, smoke detectors, etc., please send your contribution today.  A team from Ebony, Virginia and a team from Mariners Church in California will be visiting the home during the week of August 5 and will be assisting with these last-minute projects, in addition to ministry projects with the residents.  Thank you for your help with these last-minute items!

2. "Daughters of the King" Projects:  The immediate need is for additional funds for beds, mattresses, storage units and bedding for the four dormitory bedrooms.  We need at least $3,000 to finish this project.  Monies have been donated for the tables, chairs, and kitchen equipment.  In a separate post, we will summarize the status of all of the projects.  Again, your immediate contribution would be much appreciated.

3. Prayer for Safety:  Pastor Lilliam was confronted by a violent man as she arrived at the new home this week.  He threatened her with a broken bottle and demanded money.  When she refused to give him money, he smashed the bottles and threatened to hurt her and destroy her vehicle in the future.  We are keeping the day security guard on duty for the foreseeable future to provide additional protection during the move and transition.  Please pray for God's continued protection and blessing on this important ministry.

4. Monthly Support:  With the occupancy of the new home, the budget demands for the operation of the home will increase dramatically.  We need you to help us with monthly operational support.  If you or your church can make a monthly support pledge, God will richly bless you for this type of systematic support.  We have established a goal of raising at least $3,000 per month.  This will provide the bare necessities for feeding, training and housing sixty women and teens.  If you need further information, please contact us.

We will publish a new newsletter once we return, with pictures of the completed home.  Again, thank you for your continued prayers and financial support for Project Restoration and the Nancy Cole Women's Home.
