Great Ministry and Connections on Recent Trip
Kristin, Michael and I had many wonderful opportunities to minister and promote the ministry of the women's home on our recent trip. In addition to the Thanksgiving Dinner and the service with the families, here are a few other examples:
I was able to meet with various politicians, including the Minister of Women and her staff (pictured here), to promote the ministry of the home. All of the individuals agreed to attend the Open House in February.
Noted Peruvian actress Pilar Brescia is teaching a wonderful self-esteem motivational workshop at the home each week. She is pictured here (with permission) with Kristin, Michael and me.
Pastor Lilliam loves to play with the new bullhorn, which is used for emergency communication.
One of the ladies in our church printed enough Santo (Holy) Bingo cards for each resident to play. The girls loved the game, especially with the chocolate prizes!
We were able to purchase a Christmas tree and the girls enjoyed working with Kristin to decorate the tree, housed in the Proverbs 31 Family Room. If you wish to assist with special Christmas projects for the girls, please contact us.
Because of an anonymous donation of $10,000, Pastor Lilliam was able to purchase this van for the ministry at the home. Her old van definitely needed to be replaced. The mechanics from the church are checking out the van before the purchase. I was asked to examine the engine, so I pointed to the engine and said "Yes, it has an engine!" We thank God for His provision!
Here is a picture of the residents on the last day of this visit (November 27, 2007). God is working at the Nancy Cole Women's Home! We hope that many of you can join us in Lima for the Open House Celebration on Friday, February 8, 2008. If you need more details, contact us. If you can assist in the projects that need to be finished prior to the Open House, contact us. Thank you for your prayers and support for these "Daughters of the King."
