This entry was posted on 7/20/2008 11:15 PM and is filed under Ministry Updates.

We are pleased to report that the access to spiritual and support services is increasing daily at the Nancy Cole Women's Home.  A full time Psychologist (and two part-time Psychologists) are working with the girls in group and individual therapy and counseling sessions.  A Psychiatrist visits the home each week and a doctor volunteers his time at least once each week.  The girls now have exercise classes, ballet, art, French, literacy classes and daily Bible studies.  In addition, visiting teams are providing excellent support services with specialized classes and Bible studies.  PTL!   Many of these resources are available because of your monthly operational support of the home.

Here are some examples from my recent visit:

Kristin (Baird) Gulbronson (in other words, my daughter!!!) has 21 enrolled in ballet classes and is conducting general exercise classes for all the residents:

The girls love the ballet instruction.  We hope to provide proper equipment, clothing and shoes as well as additional teaching on incorporating dance into worship.

Michael has upgraded the computer access to include a web cam for Skype conversations.  Contact him if you want to set up a video phone session with Pastor Lilliam.

If you want to receive email updates from Michael and Kristin ("Point of Need" Ministries) while they are in Lima, please contact them at klgulbronson@gmail.com.   They are working on several important projects at the home, including compiling a supply inventory, a list of suggested activities for interns and visiting mission's teams, a maintenance list for visiting teams, and establishing a literacy file for each resident.  They would be glad to talk with you about your team coming to minister at the home.

Katiuska, the full time Psychologist, conducts group and individual therapy and counseling sessions (including Christian principles) with the residents.  There are many positive reports of improved behavior and attitudes.

Dra. Lilliana (part time Psychologist) conducts an individual counseling session.

Patricia and the girls display some of their excellent art therapy designs:

The response to the Sunday family sessions and services continues to be positive.  Cesar interprets my sermon entitled "Surviving the Storm" (July 13, 2008).  Our team is planning a great celebration with family and graduates of the Nancy Cole Women's Home on Sunday, August 10, 2008.

Here are some of the workers at the home, who need our daily prayers and expressions of encouragement.  Keep a picture of these workers in a prominent place that will remind you to pray for them.
(L to R) Front row:  Veronica (Daily Operations and Food), Pastor Lilliam (Founder and Director), Karen (Daily Director);
Second row: Dale (That's me - Director of Project Restoration - I need prayer for some medical issues), Katiuska (Psychologist), Rosauro (Receptionist, Administrative and Financial Assistant);
Third Row:  Tony (guard), Dr. Marisio (Psychiatrist), Patricia (French and Art).  Not pictured are the other two Psychologists, the Medical Doctor and several other volunteer workers.  Praise God for this dedicated staff!

Pastor Lilliam and Karen direct the overall program at the home.  Pictured here is Karen's family with Pastor Lilliam.  (L to R) Elizabeth, Cristina, Karen, Pastor Lilliam and Juan Carlos.  We are praying that an eye doctor in the United States will take Juan Carlos' case to prevent further deterioration of his eyesight.  Your prayers and encouragement for him and this entire family, who have dedicated themselves to the work and ministry of the Nancy Cole Women's Home, are greatly needed.
